The Public Construction Arena takes its place in the hub of the Almedalen week

2022-11-09

The popular meeting space for the construction and property industry in Visby is returning during the politicians’ week in 2023, this time in a premium location by the main stage in Almedalen. With a spiced up programme, the arena gathers Sweden’s rulers, public and private, in construction, properties, infrastructure, sustainability and energy.

After a few years’ pause, the Public Construction Arena is finally back and the main organiser is as before Stockholmsmässan.

Lina Hann, Project manager at the Public Construction Arena, explains why the arrangement is so important in Almedalen and she points to the industry’s large social footprint, both on the labour market and in the pursuit of a sustainable Sweden.

– The decisions that the construction and property industry makes affects the future of Sweden. In the exchange of knowledge between the public and private actors, the future orientation of decision-making is often laid. There is no other place where Swedish officials have the same opportunity to meet and affect each other as Almedalen during the politicians’ week. That’s why it is so important for the Public Construction Arena to be in the epicentre of the politicians’ week.

Organisers

Just as before, the largest construction fair of the Nordics - Nordbygg - and its network is the foundation of the Public Construction Arena. This time, another two co-organisers have joined, namely the fairs Trail and Rail and Nordic Sustainability Expo.

– Thereby, we become an even clearer hub for pushing constructions issues with infrastructure as the focus and sustainability as the guiding star, says Magnus Eriksson, Business Area Manager, B2B Events, at Stockholmsmässan.

Train and Rail is a fair about the most important infrastructure challenges and transport issues of the future. Nordic Sustainability Expo is the meeting place for a competitive and sustainable business enterprise. Both are arranged at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, Stockholm, during Spring 2023.
Hopefully, the conclusions and contacts from these fairs will be brought further and serve as inspiration for the Public Construction Arena, Magnus Eriksson explains.
Topics
Some of the hottest issues in the industry, such as materials prices, circularity, transport, fossil-fuel independence, property energy, infrastructure and the supply of skills will be covered during the week.

– There will be an opportunity for actors who want to be part of the public debate to push the industry forward by taking place on stage, organise meetings, mingle sessions, round-table talks or seminars. We make sure that all the logistics for the organisers are the best possible and support them with marketing, says Lina Hann and at the same time encourages the journalists who want to set up interviews or partake in mingle sessions to be in touch.

It is in all our interest that especially our social issues get maximal attention and journalists with great industry knowledge can contribute to a better development for the industry and thereby for Sweden, she concludes.
