For several years, Nordbygg has presented a number of activities focusing on sustainability. What they all have in common is that they have a long-term focus.. They all have support in one of the three global environmental goals that we consider most relevant to our industry.
Goal 5 – Gender Equality

By denying women equal rights, we deny half the population a chance to live life at its fullest. Political, economic and social equality for women will benefit all the world’s citizens. This is how we work for gender equality at Nordbygg
The construction industry is a very male-dominated industry. For many, it’s a great challenge to recruit and retain female employees, much depending on old (and outdated) structures, culture and values. We have taken the initiative to give gender equality space and attention in Nordbygg's program.
We are also working to gather several women's networks into a joint meeting place at Nordbygg. In 2018, we were able to state that the proportion of female visitors to Nordbygg has grown over time and was higher than in the construction industry in general. For Nordbygg 2022, we will hold a women's network meeting for all women in the construction and real estate industry.
Goal 7 – Affordable and clean energy
Renewable energy solutions are becoming cheaper, more reliable and more efficient every day.Our current reliance on fossil fuels is unsustainable and harmful to the planet, which is why we have to change the way we produce and consume energy. Implementing these new energy solut-ions as fast as possible is essential to counter climate change, one of the biggest threats to our own survival. (Soure: globalgoals.org)

”Renovera energismart” (Renovating energy smart) has become a recurring feature at Nordbygg. We gather a number of experts and put together a huge program of short seminars that will teach and inspire to think about energy efficiency in connection with renovation.
Goal 11 – Sustainable cities and communities
