The Construction Industry’s Safety Park premières at Nordbygg

“We want to contribute to creating a safe meeting place in harmony”
During Nordbygg 2024, the Safety Park will be housing at Stockholmsmässan. With a program packed to the brim they will give new perspective on the very serious issues regarding working environment and safety in the construction industry.

The Safety Park, which has made itself known as a meeting place for training courses, meetings and exchanges of experiences within working environment, health and safety in the construction industry, will for the first time be hosting a whole area of their own at Nordbygg.

The industry organisation Byggföretagen (The Construction Companies) earlier this year acquired the Safety Park, and its host CEO Catharina Elmsäter Svärd is looking forward with anticipation to check out this new acquisition’s creative solutions during Nordbygg 2024.

– Particularly the Safety Park is what I feel is a little extra exciting, and we of course hope that as many as possible will visit the area. I think it will be a very cool stand, she says.

Working environment and safety for all

The goal with their presence at Nordbygg is to increase the safety mindset in all parts of the construction industry and create a safer working environment. Visitors will not only observe and listen, but also physically take part in different situations that illustrate potential security flaws in construction work places. Training courses in mini-format and discussions on work culture and working environment will be a part of the programme.

– The Safety Park is aimed not only at those who work directly on construction sites. We want everyone to visit us, including developers and municipalities, says Björne Karlsson, the operations manager at the Safety Park.

The programme should be educational and fun

The entire programme for the Safety Park at Nordbygg isn’t finalised yet, but already they are promising digital fire-fighting drills, lift simulations and even musical elements. The goal is that visitors to the area will enjoy themselves and want to hang out there, while simultaneously increasing interest and enhancing knowledge on safety.

The Safety Park will also be arranging a contest in the form of installation of slatted cassettes, where participants are instructed to build as safely as possible to emphasize the importance of safe shafts.

– The goal is to show that safety can be fun and serious at the same time. ‘Harmony’ is the watchword, and we aim to create a sense that working environment and safety can be both engaging and positive. Serious doesn’t at all have to be the opposite of fun, says Björne Karlsson with enthusiasm and closes with the Safety Park tag line; ‘a safe place in harmony’.

You will find the Safety Park in Hall B during Nordbygg, April 23-26, 2024.
