The Female Construction of the Year 2024 is crowned at Nordbygg by Night
The award The Female Construction of the Year will be awarded in conjunction with Nordbygg 2024. The announcement will be made under festive forms at Nordbygg by Night, a brand new networking event for exhibitors, customers and networks, on Thursday April 25, 2024. The Swedish Construction Federation is the collaboration partner.
When the largest meeting place for the construction and property industry in the Nordics is arranged on April 23-26, it is with an enhanced cooperation between The Swedish Construction Federation and Nordbygg.
– Apart from the events we have together, Nordbygg by Night and the appointment of The Female Construction of the Year 2024, we will have an enhanced cooperation around activities and the programme content, Lina Hann, Project Manager at Nordbygg, divulges.
The Swedish Construction Federation will also give visitors to Nordbygg the opportunity to take short training courses through Byggbranschens utbildningscenter (BUC, The Construction industry’s training centre), and arrange The Safety Park, an area in the lower part of B hall that focuses on activities regarding safety and culture in the workplace.
The Female Construction of the Year
The award The Female Construction of the Year has been awarded since 2021 and with considerable media attention. The initiative, run by the Swedish Construction Federation, aims to acknowledge and honour notable women in the construction industry, with the goal of attracting more women to the industry in the long run.
– We look forward to awarding The Female Construction of the Year 2024 at Nordbygg, which is a large and important meeting arena for many in the industry, says Tanja Rasmusson, Head of Public & Regulatory Affairs at the Swedish Construction Federation.
Among previous winners we find this year’s appointment of foreman Marian Mohammedamin, who was praised for her courage, decisiveness and ambition to improve not only her own life, but that of those around her. In 2022, the award was given to Malin Söderson, among other things for her role as inspirer and a leader who takes responsibility and develops and leads the people around her. In 2021, Emmalena Andersson, plater and construction manager, was praised for contributing to a better working environment through important areas such as psychosocial health, anti-bullying and anti-harassment.
– With the award The Female Construction of the Year, we aim to pay attention to role-models, who in different ways have paved the way and contributed to increased diversity in the industry. The winners widen the spread of who can work together in construction and civil engineering, and by elevating their efforts we want to inspire others to follow in their footsteps, Tanja Rasmusson explains.
The winner in 2024 will be announced at Nordbygg by Night, a brand new evening reception for exhibitors which will be held on the Thursday evening of April 25. Visitors to Nordbygg will be able to listen to the interview with the winner at Nordbygg during the Friday.
